Fotis Bouzanis

Dental Surgeon, Implantologist · DDS

Dental degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2007). Served as a dentist in the Hellenic Navy at the Naval Hospitals of Salamis and Athens (2007 to 2008). Completed the two year postgraduate programme in Implant Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry (2010 to 2012), focused on surgical implant dentistry, prosthetic restoration of implants and natural teeth, and soft and hard tissue regeneration. As a member of the Academy of Osseointegration he presented research on dental implants at two of its meetings (Washington DC, 2011 and Arizona, 2012). He is a member of the Dental Association of Attica and of the ITI (International Team for Implantology), and an instructor on the Digital Technology and 3D Printing in Medicine and Dentistry programme of the University of Athens Medical School. Since 2012 he has practised at Bouzanis Dental, with a focus on digital technology in placing and restoring implants and in restoring natural teeth.

Specialist Orthodontist · DDS, MSc

Dental degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2009). Postgraduate programme in Aesthetic Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry (2010 to 2011), where she stayed a further year as an Assistant Clinical Fellow, until August 2012. Postgraduate specialty training in Orthodontics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2012 to 2016), with a thesis on external root resorption after orthodontic treatment assessed with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Specialist Orthodontist title from the Central Health Council (KESY) of the Ministry of Health (2016). Certified in Invisalign (clear aligners) and WIN, DW Lingual Systems (lingual braces). Member of the Dental Association of Attica, the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece, the Hellenic Society for Orthodontic and Craniofacial Study and Research, and the European Orthodontic Society (EOS). She has practised orthodontics exclusively at Bouzanis Dental since 2016 and at the orthodontic department of EDOEAP since 2018. She is a scientific associate of the Orthodontics Laboratory at the Aristotle University School of Dentistry, teaching postgraduate students, and has spoken at Greek and international conferences and published in international journals.

Full renovation and new dental equipment. Today the practice has two fully equipped treatment rooms.

Frequently asked questions

What happens at the first visit?

We take your medical and dental history, carry out an initial examination and assess your needs. After a full record we explain every possible treatment plan, with its timing and cost.

At what age should a child see an orthodontist?

Ideally the first visit is at 7. The examination shows whether treatment is needed and whether it should start now or later.

Is it too late for orthodontics as an adult?

No. Orthodontics is for adults too, either as a complete treatment or as part of a plan with other specialties such as implant dentistry.

Do I need one implant for every missing tooth?

Not necessarily. When several teeth are missing, fewer implants are used than teeth, placed at strategic points to support the restoration.

I already wear a removable denture. Can implants help?

Yes. Implants can improve the retention and stability of a denture.

Does the intraoral scanner use radiation?

No. The scanner uses light to take the digital impression.

Can lingual braces be seen?

No, because they sit on the inner side of the teeth. Speech can feel harder at first and oral hygiene needs care. Choosing the right case matters most.
